Adult Service Residential Programs
Cardinal Cushing Centers Adult Services Program provides
home supports to individuals with developmental disabilities over
the age of twenty-two. Currently The individuals residing in these homes receive twenty-four hour
support services by exceptionally qualified and experienced staff,
including Direct Supports Professionals and Residential Supports
Managers. At home, we provide training centered on functional skills
such as planning and preparing nutritious meals, assuming responsibilities
for daily chores, taking pride in personal appearance, and practicing
self-preservation skills.
South
Shore Industries South Shore Industries is supervised employment.
, the program has eight homes located
in the community that were cooperatively chosen with the individuals
and families we support. In the spirit of personal choice, these
adults have decorated their homes beautifully to reflect their interests,
hobbies and personal tastes.
Based upon an individual's preferences, we encourage the development
of appropriate recreational, social, and spiritual interests. The
individuals we support utilize many resources in the community such
as grocery stores, beauty salons, malls, movie theaters, banks,
restaurants, and special interest classes. They also are involved
in community memberships such as libraries and health clubs. In
addition, the adults participate in many social activities including
dances, attending sporting events, and volunteering events. Similarly,
the individuals we support take vacations and trips of varying lengths.
Destinations have included Walt Disney World, Las Vegas, Virginia
and Pennsylvania. Many have developed strong and meaningful relationships,
and enjoy inviting friends and families to visit their homes.
