Brian Walsh, the winner of Rockland Trust's Holiday Card Design contest, shows off his winning design

Cardinal Cushing Center student wins Rockland Trust Card Art Contest

The winner of Rockland Trust's Holiday Card art contest is Brian Walsh from Cardinal Cushing Centers.

Cardinal Cushing Centers is a private, nonprofit residential school for children of all faiths, ages 6 through 22, with developmental disabilities and multiple handicaps.  Cardinal Cushing Centers was selected by Rockland Trust to host a contest for the design of one of the bank's corporate holiday cards.  Brian's winning design was selected from more than 20 contest entries at his school, and depicts a snowman tic-tac-toe game.  For his efforts, he received a $100 savings bond, presented at the holiday assembly on Friday, Dec. 14.

"We are always looking for ways to engage our community at Rockland Trust," said Stephanie Cote, associate product manager for Rockland Trust.  "We are thrilled with Brian's design, and proud to offer him a $100 U.S. Savings Bond to show our appreciation."  The two runners up in the contest, Sarah Tabbi and Kristie Wambolt, each received a $50 savings bond.

Brian's design has been printed on thousands of holiday cards that will be mailed to Rockland Trust customers.

"This is a great way for us to share our commitment to the Cardinal Cushing Centers organization with our customers, vendors and businesses with which we have relationships," said Cote.  "It's a win-win situation made more meaningful by enabling one of Cardinal Cushing Centers' students to express his potential."
